Amber teaches:  Love of a Lifetime and It’s a Frame up!  (No Possibilities! this quarter)

Amber says:  Four years ago, as a non-scrapbooker (can you believe it!?), I approached a friend of mine with a simple question:  How would I go about getting hired to teach scrapbook classes?  She taught classes at another, now closed store.  She said “It’s easy.  Just take some of your favorite pages in and if they like them, they’ll hire you.”  Because the only scrapbook pages I had were the wedding pages I had done 5 years earlier (I used decorative scissors and cut around the heads on the pictures ~ no wonder why I didn't like it!), I ran to the store ... bought some supplies ... put together some pages and was hired!  I was officially a scrapbooker!

Two years ago I was hired by AMM.  I was so thrilled to be hired by AMM!  What an honor!  I mean, hello!?  It’s AMM ~ everyone knows it’s the best!  After teaching at the store for a few months, I was invited to be on the AMM Design Team and was lucky enough to do that from February 2006 until the November 2006.  Since that time I have been the author of this blog.  {I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!}

In January 2007, I was asked to be the Teacher Lead.  I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far and I am thrilled with the teachers we have and the classes we are offering!

I have represented AMM on Good Things Utah, Fox 13 Morning News, and I have also filmed three “Tips of the Week” for Clique TV (a website owned by Creating Keepsakes).  I was recently published in the Creating Keepsakes Idea Annual, vol. 10.

Of all these opportunities, the one I love the most is the one you give me!  Thank you for allowing me to teach you about scrapbooking!  It doesn’t matter what is going on in my life outside of scrapbooking, when I teach a class, my spirit is lifted.

Who would have thought that an adamant non-scrapbooker would have the opportunities I have had?  I can truly say that I LOVE what I do!

What makes you scrapbook???  Tell us before midnight, March 28 and we’ll pick a winner for an awesome prize!

It's so fun to hear all about you Amber!

Hi Amber.....we all love you and your awesome personality. Thanks for sharing your creativity with all of us.
Pam Taylor

I have been a scrapbooker for 10+ years now. Sometimes more diligently than others. One day when I was reading the obituaries a young mother had passed away and her family wrote that her children would know for the rest of their lives who their mom was and how much she loved them by having the wonderful scrapbooks she had left for her kids. This really struck me and I think of it often when I'm creating my pages. I love being able to connect with others through this great hobby and hopefully my kids will see a side of me in my work that they wouldn't know otherwise.

I have been an *updated* scrapper for the past 7 years. I say updated because I use the safe stuff now. I scrap because I love the creativity and freedom to do what I want on my pages. I also love the fact that I have 7 adorable subjects to scrap about and that's not including the pets! Oh and the husband! I just enjoy it. What other reason is there?

Hi Amber! I really enjoyed learning more about you! I love the classes at AMM! The teachers are definatly the best!
I have been scrapbooking since my beautiful twin girls were born, almost 8 years ago! I love to make pages that will help them remember how great their life is and how much I love them. I also scrapbook because it just makes me happy. I feel such a sense of accomplishment when I put another completed page into an album. It is my creative outlet for such a busy life!

Amber – it was so great to hear more about you! It’s crazy to think you only started 4 years ago and look how amazing you are! Anyway, I scrap because I love it! I guess I have technically been scrapping for about 10 years, back in HS I made a scrapbook just using construction paper and markers – gasp! Although I still love the book and would never change it! I have been ‘modern’ scrapbooking for about 6 years and I do it because I love to document all of the fun times I have and I know I am creating keepsakes that will last forever. I also scrap because some day when I have kids I want to be able to show them how hip and fun I was (so they maybe they will listen to me hehehe)! I wish my mom had done scrapbooks back then so I could look back on her as I love seeing pictures of her in her day!

I have been scrapbooking on and off for about ten years. I quit scrapbooking when I had to work two jobs in order to save for a down payment for my house. I really started getting into scrapbooking after my younger brother died. I needed an outlet for my grief and time to heal. Scrapbooking was something I could do at home. After I started to feel better, I again started taking classes and meeting lots of new friends. Now I scrapbook to take a break from the hectic world that we all live in, and it has been a great way to meet new friends. You could say scrabooking saved my life, and now continues to enrich me and my family.

Hi Amber! i scrapbook because i LOVE this hobby, i too have only been scrapbooking for about 4 years. i love the friends i have met with scrapbooking. my boys tease me and say we would never do anything if their mom did not scrapbook. (they are my favorite subjects to scrapbook :) i love to capture the little moments in life. i also LOVE AMM! keep up the great work. liz

My husband and I were just having this conversation a couple of weeks ago. Of course, he can not understand how our children will feel that scrapbooking is more important than golf. Little does he know they will. We have two young daughters and I love to scrapbook the funny things they do as well as the not so funny things. I wish my mom had kept scrapbooks for us. It is so fun to see how much my kids change especially since the time goes by so fast. I too love AMM and the wonderful classes. Maybe next quarter there will be some little girl classes (hint, hint)! lol

Amber, I just found your blog as a link off of Melissa's. I just had to tell you that I think it's adorable and I totally LOVE all of your scrapbook work!! I am an addicted scrapbooker myself and so it's fun to see I'm not the only one in the fam. ;) Love you guys!

Hi Amber,

I LOVED your acrylic album class at the expo this past weekend! In fact, I loved so many of your new layouts with A Page For All Seasons that I had to sign up for the monthly autoship. Okay, so I signed up for someone else's designs ("He Said") since I have boys, but I am signing up for yours as soon as my commitment for the 2 other autoships I now get are up. You do beautiful work, and I hope to learn a lot from you. Thank you for all you do, and THANKS for starting A Page For All Seasons. I will do my best to help make you successful. It was also great meeting some of the other gals. I think it was Val that I met first (I hope that is her name :-) Very nice gal!

Tracy
