Don't forget to have fun!

Shyloh_5x7Do you ever feel so overwhelmed by scrapbooking that it isn't fun anymore?

Do you ever feel you are so far behind you don't sit down to actually

start(let alone finish) any scrapbook pages?  I have felt that way.  I

noticed that I started to avoid scrapbooking all together because I was not

finding it to be FUN anymore!  OR, I started to "collect" scrapbooking

supplies!  I started to think about what makes scrapbooking FUN and I realized it was that I enjoyed READING the pages I actually FINISHED.

So.... Take the pressure off of this obsessive "sport" and just start scrapping!  Don't take all the classes just to have albums with beautiful pages and NO pictures AND journaling on them!  (I know there are lots of you out there that do this!)

Even if you have to start with just mounting a simple photo mat to a

picture and putting that on a page, it is a beginning!  I have started to

SIMPLIFY my books and UTILIZE the millions of class pages I have made and it has been very nice to have something I can be proud of, and to have FUN reading my new books!

New Baby

PamA NEW baby is like the beginning of all things --- Wonder, HOPE, a dream of possibilities---

This has been a week of high emotions in our little world.  My daughter had her baby about 2 and ½ weeks early.  Kaylin Brittany was born September 6, 2007 at 11:47 pm at 7 pounds and 19 inches long.  Mom and baby are doing well.  It was a marvelous experience for all of us.  I was able to be in the delivery room and experience the miracle of a new life.  Life is GOOD!

Don’t forget to scrapbook each moment in your life whether it is an ordinary day or an extraordinary day; you have a story to tell.

It is not a slight thing when they, who are so fresh from God, love us.

Back it up!

Nicole_4Lately, I keep having a nagging feeling that I need to back up all my photos since I haven't done it in a long time. So far, my hard drive is hangin' in there, but I have so many things (photos, digital scrapbook supplies, digital layouts, fonts, songs, word documents, etc.) stored on it I'm afraid one day it will just explode on me! My husband recently bought me an external hard drive at Costco. It was about $100 and it will store about 45,000 photos (160GB). Another good option is to burn some backup CD's or DVD's. Anyway, I found a really great website dedicated to this topic.

http://savemymemories.org/Default.aspx

Check it out. They have tips about how to back things up, how to organize your digital photos on the computer, and even how to recover things from a hard drive crash. So, If you haven't backed up your precious memories in a while, consider this the nagging voice back of you mind telling you to make it a priority!

Kimberly's new kitchen ... impressive!

Kimberly_3

I wanted to share with you the progress on my house from start to finish!  My husband (J.R.), My Dad and I have been spending a lot of our spare time remodeling!  All the cabinets I have built, sprayed and installed (with some help).  It has been fun, but hard to live in!  Well ... enjoy the pics!

Kimberly

She's even more talented than we already knew!
