New Year's Resolutions

Resolutions_2008t_3It's that time of year again - the day that we look at our goals, aspirations, and resolve to do better.  My challenge is to scrapbook your list of New Year's Resolutions.  I know some people think resolutions are a waste of time because NOBODY is able to keep every one of them.  But I look at it as an inspiration list, something to refocus ourselves and keep us aimed in the right direction of self-improvement.

So go ahead, pull out a piece of scratch paper and brainstorm about things that are important to you, what to you want to change, improve upon.  Even if you don't have time to scrapbook it, at least you'll have a list. :o)

I really enjoyed creating this layout.  First of all, I RARELY take time to scrapbook for myself.  In fact, I think this is the first personal page I have ever made (they are always about my children).  It was very self rewarding.  I also got to play with these yummy Basic Grey "Infuse" papers that have been gathering dust in my scrapbook stash.  I'm excited to display it on my scraproom wall - to daily remind myself what I want to be striving towards.

Well, I'm off to exercise for the first time in a week (Resolution - "Exercises Regularly"), then off to a day at the Discovery Gateway Museum with my four kids (Resolutions -"Spend more quality time with my family" and "PLAY more")  I can focus on a few every day!  Also, now all of you know what they are so I HAVE to work on them!  ;o)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Magnet Board Class - Sad News

Dear Friends,

I have some really sad news about the magnet board class I was going to teach this quarter.  It is being postponed until the next quarter (April, May & June) due to product availability.  The magnet board will not be available from our supplier until the beginning of April.  I've been checking on other options and could get the boards done for this quarter, however, they will cost more and will thus increase the cost of the class.  We have already had to tweek things to get the cost of this class down to an acceptable level ($60).  Jorjana (our owner) and I  have decided that it would be better to wait a quarter and keep the costs down as much as possible.

Thank you for your interest in my classes.  I know how excited everyone was for it and tried to not disappoint anyone.  I guess some things are just out of our control.  I hope you will understand why it was put on hold.  I look forward to teaching the class next quarter.

Hugs!  Amber

Target Ad_2007_11

Amber 2 A couple of weeks ago I posted this delicious Target ad.  I said it inspired me to make a layout following this design.  Well, four classes, and other projects later ... here's what I came up with:

page 1

This is page 1 of a Christmas Traditions Album I will be demonstrating on Good Things Utah.  You can watch me on Monday, December 24.  The show beging at 10:00 am.  I'm filming the show tomorrow, so I can narrow down the time a little later.

We've been "elf"ed! And so can you!

elf 1

elf 2

We've been "elf"ed!  Do you want to see something funny?  Follow this link.

Have you "Scene" it?  Layle Koncar, Director of Marketing at Scenic Route, is teaching a class at our store on March 18.   It's our VIP class.  If you register for 10 or more classes, you get this class for free!  After January 21, those who do not get in for free can register.  The class fee is $25.

I was on Layle's blog yesterday and she had "elf"ed her two boys.  I thought my boys would like it, so I did it too.  The boys were laughing so hard.  Riley doesn't think that's him.  He thinks it's his cousin Ellie Neal laughed and then told me it was weird (trying to be cool?)

We want to see yours!  "Elf" your family and add it to your comment on our blog so we can all see!  (thanks Office Max)
